Saladin’s Citadel

The Citadel of Salah al-Din is located in the Gulf of Aqaba region, and is called the “Riviera of Egypt,” near the city of Taba, in the South Sinai Governorate. The island follows the city of Taba, the last city on the Egyptian border to the east.

  • It is located in the heart of the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, 15 kilometers from Taba.Reaching the island requires a boat because it is about 300 meters from the beach. The castle includes a military meeting hall, living quarters for soldiers, a bread oven, grain stores, a steam bath, water tanks, and a mosque established by Prince Hussam al-Din Bagil bin Hamdan.
